Benton police Thursday are investigating a late-night crash on Northshore Drive.
Officers responded about 11:14 p.m. Wednesday to an accident at an entrance to the Northshore Gardens subdivision, where a car heading west on Northshore Drive had veered off the road, run through a fence and hit the rear of a home on Jasmine Drive, Benton police Lt. Kevin Russell said in a statement.
The car’s driver, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to Saline Memorial Hospital and later transported by medical helicopter to a Little Rock hospital. The Pulaski County coroner’s office told Benton police about 3 a.m. that she had died.
Benton police are still working to reconstruct the accident to determine its cause, and further details will be forthcoming, Russell said.
