Insert the Life Scent canister into the Freshmatic. It releases the scent at timed intervals, which users can set to their preference. The gadget can be hung on a wall or set on a shelf or table. The spray can also be released manually. The sprays sell for $4.88 each and the Freshmatic device comes in several styles and prices.
Flood Buzz Water Leak Alarm
What's to love: Can help prevent water damage.
What does it do: These uncomplicated little devices can be placed where leaks are likely to occur -- near washing machines, under sinks, bathrooms, basements, etc. The detector sounds a 90-to-95-decibel alarm when it detects water. The alarms, which are 1 1/2 inches tall, are easy to use with no batteries to change or buttons to push. The internal battery has up to a three-year life-span. A pack of three alarms sells for $19.99.
