Police: Tulsa man arrested after threatening sheriff

TULSA — Tulsa police have arrested a man who they say carjacked an area pastor and threatened to shoot embattled Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz.

The 34-year-old man was being held in the Tulsa County jail Tuesday morning.

A Tulsa homeowner tells police the suspect entered his home with a gun Monday and solicited help to shoot Glanz. Police say the suspect then exited the home and stole the vehicle of a pastor on his way to church.

The suspect's wife returned the vehicle to the church and told officers where they could find her husband.

No injuries were reported. Police didn't release a motive in the case.

Glanz has been widely criticized after his longtime friend and volunteer deputy fatally shot an unarmed man in April.
