NLR man charged after stepson shot

Police arrested a North Little Rock man Saturday for shooting his stepson in the leg, according to a police report.

Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at 4201 Pike Ave. in North Little Rock. Officers found Kedrick Cobb had been shot in the right leg, according to the report. Cobb told officers that his stepfather, Khayam Thomas, had shot him and fired a round at his head that nearly hit him.

Officers found Thomas at 1107 Parkway Drive in North Little Rock. The report says officers had a standoff with Thomas for about two hours before he surrendered.

Thomas, 34, was listed on the Pulaski County jail roster Sunday night. He is being held on a charge of first-degree battery, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of firearms by certain persons. No bail has been set for Thomas, who is on parole.
