Little Rock police are investigating a Thursday morning shooting that left one woman critically injured.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Steven McClanahan said officers responded to a shooting about 10:40 a.m. at Briarwood Apartments at 801 S. Rodney Parham Road.

Ashley Moore, 22, was purportedly shot in the chest by her boyfriend Braielon King, 20, inside apartment G in building eight where the couple lived together, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

"They were reported to have been arguing over another girl [King] was seeing," McClanahan said in an email.

The victim was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center for treatment of her injuries by King, the report states. McClanahan said as of 4:30 p.m., she is still in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive.

An officer stopped King's vehicle after he left the hospital and arrested him, the report states. The weapon used in the shooting has not been recovered, McClanahan said.

King has been charged with first-degree domestic battery and as of 4:40 p.m. was not listed on an online inmate roster.
