Little Rock police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting that left one teenage boy injured.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Bryan Brown said officers responded about 12:28 p.m. to a report that a 17- or 18-year-old was shot at a home at 2932 Fulton St. in the South End area.

Police said the victim, who has not been identified, was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. The victim was shot in the arm, and the bullet exited the opposite side of his body and hit a dresser inside the residence, Brown said.

As of 3 p.m., the boy is still in surgery and is in "critical but stable" condition, according to Brown.

A 15-year-old who was taken into custody told police that the shooting was “accidental” and it was between “him and a relative," Brown said.

When police searched the home, officers found a handgun and one spent bullet casing, Brown said.

Details are still developing.
