Where I live: East Fayetteville
Occupation: USA Triathlon Race director for General Physical Preparedness (GPP) Everyman Series, which offers a wide variety of events for people at every fitness level. Our goal is to challenge people to challenge themselves physically, no matter who they are or their walk of life. We produce events to encourage people to get out and have fun as they achieve their fitness and health goals.
My favorite space is: My Adirondack chairs and swing in my backyard.
Why? This space is an oasis for my husband and me. We reconnect here. Have a glass of wine and talk. Sometimes we don’t talk, we just sit together. Winters we build a fire in the pit. Summers we enjoy the birds, squirrels and landscape. I don’t have a fence in my backyard and it opens into a field with trees and berry bushes. I feel like I am out of the city, away from it all. I train for long-distance triathlons. Hours are spent swimming, riding and running. To lay on my back in the swing and look up to the sky through the big tree is a treat. I unwind and rejuvenate.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: some days I want to add a beautiful brick flooring and tall fireplace, other days, I wouldn’t change a thing.
