Cash, jewelry stolen in armed home-invasion robbery

Authorities are looking for three armed men who got inside a Little Rock apartment Friday morning and robbed the two residents of cash and jewelry.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. at a residence on Topaz Court, which runs south of Mabelvale Cutoff Road between Geyer Springs and Chicot roads.

One victim told investigators he was in bed in one of the bedrooms when a man he didn't know entered with a handgun. The two struggled, but the armed man and a second assailant who had a machete were eventually able to tie the victim up with a bedsheet, the report said.

A woman asleep in another bedroom, meanwhile, was awakened by a third man who pointed a shotgun at her, ordered her to the floor and demanded she reveal where cash was kept in the home, the report said.

The three robbers ultimately found a safe under one of the beds and made off with $600 in cash, a gold chain, two gold-and-silver watch and several other items.

No serious injuries were reported, though the man said one of the intruders put the machete to his back, causing a small cut.

No arrests have been made.
