Three hit wonders

When Percy Sledge died a few weeks ago, some of us thought, dang. When a Man Loves a Woman was a favorite. Then last week, word came that Jack Ely had died, the lead singer (for a time) of The Kingsmen, which produced one of the all-time great garage-band songs, Louie, Louie.

Then yesterday, the news wires said Ben E. King had died at 76 years old. And lost is the voice that gave us Stand By Me all those years ago.

Those are three one-hit wonders who put their mark on rock 'n' roll. They'll be missed. Especially for anybody who digs the tunes of the 60s, man.
