Man attacks wife, hits 9-year-old boy, report says

A Pulaski County man is accused of attacking his wife while she slept and then striking her 9-year-old son.

Jonathan Stricklin, 31, was arrested late Wednesday night on charges of first- and second-degree domestic battery.

The 33-year-old victim told investigators she was asleep at the couple's home on Reed Road outside North Little Rock about 10:30 p.m. when Stricklin woke her up with a punch to the face, according to a Pulaski County sheriff's office report.

The woman ran to the kitchen, where she fell after Stricklin struck her from behind, the report said. He then hit her with a fold-up wooden table and a glass object, investigators wrote, noting that the table and the glass object broke in the process. He also at one point struck the 9-year-old boy in the left eye, the report said.

Stricklin's wife was reportedly struck one more time with an unknown object before Stricklin ran from the home, police said.

The boy had redness around his eye, the report said, while his mother had multiple cuts on her face and right arm in addition to a large laceration to the back of her head. A separate arrest report described her injuries as severe. She was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.

Deputies searched the surrounding area and arrested Stricklin a short time later on nearby Winchester Road. The report said his hands were bloody and his shirt torn.

Stricklin remained in the Pulaski County jail Thursday morning with bail not yet set.
