Authorities in Little Rock are investigating after a man was shot Tuesday morning.

Little Rock Police Department Sgt. Cassandra Davis said a maintenance man at Eastview Terrace Apartments, 1200 Geyer St., found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound about 9:40 a.m.

Derizja Wells, 22, of Little Rock told officers he was sitting on the couch inside his apartment with the shooter before the man attempted to rob him, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The man pulled out a black semi-automatic hand gun and said, "Give me what you got," the report states.

Wells originally told police that he was outside his apartment when the man walked up and attempted to rob him, but later said he was inside his apartment when the robbery occurred, the report states.

Three witnesses who were inside the apartment told officers that Wells and the man were talking "as if they knew each other" before the man tried to rob Wells. Three children under the age of four were also present, according to the report.

Wells told police that he knew the man, but could not remember his name.

When Wells tried to leave the apartment, police said the man shot Wells. He was transported to UAMS Medical Center with injuries that were determined to be non life-threatening, the report states.

The shooter is described as an 18 to 22 year-old black man, about 5-foot-8, weighing 160 pounds and was last seen wearing a red shirt and red pants.

No arrests have been made.
