— Arkansas overcame slow starts in both halves to beat Delta State 74-40 in its final exhibition game.

The Razorbacks went on a 13-2 run following the under-12 media timeout in the first half to extend their lead to 13 and the Statesmen never got within seven the rest of the game.

Moses Kingsley led Arkansas with 16 points, but it was Dusty Hannahs' 15 points - all of which came after halftime - that helped the Razorbacks pull away from Delta State in the second half.

The Statesmen opened the half on a 9-2 run to get within 11, but Hannahs made 6 of 9 second-half shots and scored nearly half of Arkansas' points as it outscored them 31-8 to close the game.

After making only two shots in the Razorbacks' first exhibition game, Kingsley played much better against Delta State, the preseason No. 11 team in Division II. The big man also had eight rebounds and three blocks.

Jimmy Whitt was the only other Arkansas player in double digits, with 14 points, while Keaton Miles led the Razorbacks with nine rebounds and Jabril Durham led with seven assists.

Devin Schmidt, the Gulf South Conference preseason player of the year, was the leading scorer and rebounder for Delta State, with 16 points and six rebounds.

Arkansas opens its regular season Friday against Southern. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
