Tree lot going up near War Eagle Mill

Spencer and Shayna Wolf are opening War Eagle Christmas Trees this holiday season.

The couple will sell fresh cut Fraser firs from North Carolina starting Friday. The lot will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Christmas.

The lot will be on the Blackburn Homestead, across the bridge from the War Eagle Mill. Shayna Wolf's parents, Bruce and Terry Covey, own the homestead. Their Creekside Treats concessions on the site will offer food, including cinnamon rolls, lattes, hot chocolate, glazed nuts and hand-dipped corn dogs. Gifts and crafts made by local artisans, ranging from woodworking to handcrafted jewelry, will be available.

The businesses are open 3-7 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays and 1-7 p.m. Sundays.

Store hosts charging site for car sharers

Fayetteville's low-speed, electric vehicle car-share business has a new parking and charging station at Ozark Natural Foods at 1554 N. College Ave.

Sustainable Urban Mobility opened in June and has nine pickup sites throughout its service area, a 5-mile radius around downtown. The Ozark Natural Foods site is the first to offer charging.

Car-share members reserve a vehicle by text message and pick it up and return it to one of the nine lots. Customers can rent a vehicle between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. and must be 18 years old and a college student, or 21 years old. Members pay a $20 application fee used to verify insurance and driving record.

7 safe years earn Tyson farm state award

Cobb-Vantress Inc., Bates Mountain Farm received a Seven Year Accumulative Safety Award. It is a division of Tyson Foods Inc.

The farm's 53 employees accumulated seven years, starting Sept. 4, 2008, without a lost day of work from a work-related injury or illness.

The company has a safety program in effect and a safety committee made up of employees and management.

The Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Insurance Department and the Workers' Compensation Commission present the award to companies that excel in on-the-job safety.

Rockline honored for logging 4 safe years

Rockline Industries' Booneville plant received a Four Year Accumulative Safety Award from the Arkansas Department of Labor, Arkansas Insurance Department and Workers' Compensation Commission.

The plant's 370 employees accumulated four years without a lost day from work from a work-related injury or illness between Aug. 16, 2011 and Aug. 30.

The company has a safety program in effect and a safety committee made up of employees and management officials.

Rockline is one of the largest producers of consumer products specializing in wet wipes and coffee filters.

Security-excellence award goes to ABF

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, was recognized by the American Trucking Associations for exceptional security practices -- earning the 2015 Excellence in Security Award from the ATA Supply Chain Security and Loss Prevention Council for a record seventh time.

The award was presented during the ATA Safety and Security Awards Reception and Banquet on Nov. 4 at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock. The ABF Freight security program includes regional security managers throughout North America.

OK Farms receives top prize for chicks

OK Farms, a subsidiary of OK Foods, received the Top Hatch and Top Chicks award during the 2014 Flock Awards hosted by Aviagen North America. OK Farms produces the Aviagen exclusive Ross 308 and 708 chicks.

The award recognized OK Farms as having the highest percentage of eggs hatched, as well as first place for the highest number of Ross 308 chicks hatched per hen housed.

OK Foods was founded more than 70 years ago as a livestock and poultry feed producer and has grown into one of the world's largest fully integrated chicken producers. It has more than 3,000 workers in the United States. The company was acquired by Industrias Bachoco out of Celaya, Mexico in November 2011.
