Washington County Restaurant Inspections

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Information is from the state Health Department records. Restaurants are listed in order of inspection date. All reports are from regular food service food store inspections unless otherwise noted. Critical violations are defined as items relating directly to factors that lead to food-borne illness and must be corrected immediately. Noncritical violations are defined as items that relate to maintenance of food operations and cleanliness.

Oct. 26

El Sol Mexican Restaurant

Critical violations: Food employee handled ready-to-eat cilantro and onion with bare hands.

Noncritical violations: Food employee is wearing a finger ring that is not a plain band. Food employee is wearing fingernail polish while working with exposed foods. Corrugated fiberboard is used to line some of the storage shelving in walk-in refrigerator.

Noncritical violations: Food must be stored in compliance with established regulations. Toms Chips and Lance Crackers by milk cooler displayed 2 inches off floor, must be 6 inches. No chemical test strips; on back order.

Noncritical violations: Outside garbage dumpster is leaking liquids. Pegboard half-wall in pizza preparation area is not smooth and easily cleanable.

Noncritical violations: Refrigerated display case storage shelving for milk lacks cleaning.

Blanquita's Cake Shop

Critical violations: None

Noncritical violations: Bowl stored in tres leches container; must be stored outside the container to reduce risk of cross contamination.

Sonic

186 N. Cato Springs Road, Fayetteville

Critical violations: Food employee dried washed hands with a clean cloth towel.

Noncritical violations: Lemon presses are stored in containers of soda water. Front three-compartment sink's position has shifted, causing the drain to discharge on to the floor. Outside grease dumpster lid is open. Two ceiling tile's finish lacks securing and a floor tile lacks installation next to front three-compartment sink. Ceiling light fixture in food preparation area lacks shielding. Posted retail food permit has expired.

McDonald's

1200 W. Wilson St., Fayetteville

Critical violations: None

Noncritical violations: Except for a plain ring, such as a wedding band, while preparing food, food workers may not wear jewelry on their arms and hands; food employees are wearing bracelets and rings that are not plain bands. Posted retail food permit has expired.

Greenland Mini Mart

25 N. Main St., Greenland

Critical violations: Employee drink cup lacks a lid. Wash hands any time contamination could have occurred, when changing tasks and as described in the Arkansas Rules and Regulations Pertaining to Food Establishments; food employee failed to wash hands between glove change when working with raw and ready-to-eat foods.

Noncritical violations: Except for a plain ring, such as a wedding band, while preparing food, food workers may not wear jewelry on their hands; ring is not a plain band. Mop sink is not installed; person in charge informed me that the mop water is disposed of outside.

Subway

Critical violations: Chemical spray bottle with sanitizer less than 100 ppm quaternary ammonia.

Noncritical violations: Valid permit was not posted in a place visible to customers.

Fayetteville Town Center

Noncritical violations: Facility is a catering kitchen. No food kept on site. Time of inspection, beer is the only food on site.

Brewski's

Critical violations: None

Noncritical violations: Packaged food shall not be stored in direct contact with ice or water; bottle in ice bin used for ice in drinks; put in clean pan. Beer and mixed drinks only. New "Heath Warning" signs can be obtained at healthy.arkansas.gov.

Critical violations: No bare hand contact with food or ice, use gloves, tongs, deli tissue or other dispensing equipment; food employee handled toast and another employee handled boiled eggs with bare hands (repeat). Fruit jams, jelly and butter are being canned without an approved variance and HAACP Plan.

Noncritical violations: Food employees lack their hair effectively restrained.

Critical violations: Cooked rice in steam table and hot holding unit temperatures are below 135 degrees. Pork carnitas and chile verde cooked and refrigerated for greater than seven days based on the container date label.

Noncritical violations: The person in charge is failing to ensure the minimum hot food holding temperature is maintained.

Harps Deli/Bakery

1780 Crossover Road, Fayetteville

Critical violations: Refrigerated dark meat chicken cooked yesterday, the discard date marked on the containers exceeds seven days. Containers of raw fish sushi rolls in refrigerated case for customer self-serve lack consumer advisory.

Noncritical violations: Baking pans have pan release debris accumulation on the surfaces. Deli wire flour strainer and plastic drain tub for raw chicken are damaged.

Critical violations: Food service worker cut limes for garnish with bare hands. Eggs stored over cooked chicken in walk-in cooler. Dishwasher sanitizer solution is less than 50 ppm chlorine; must have mechanical dishwasher repaired to ensure sanitizer level of the rinse is adequate. Must sanitize dishes and wares in three-compartment sink with a final rinse at 50-100 ppm chlorine. All items in prep table, with garnishes for pho, out of temperature control; unit broken.

Noncritical violations: Equipment for cooling and heating food and holding cold and hot food shall be sufficient in number and capacity to provide food temperature in accordance with rules and regulations; prep cooler is broken. Broken cooler lacked thermometer.
