Man run over during fight in Little Rock dies from injuries

Little Rock police are investigating the third homicide in less than a week after a hospitalized man died late Wednesday night from injuries he sustained Saturday when he was hit by a car during a fight, police said.

Brandon Joyner, 26, was initially listed in critical condition after being run over, according to Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Steven McClanahan.

It was not immediately clear where Joyner was hospitalized, or if any arrests had been made Thursday.

Police responding to a call about a fight in the 1200 block of South Pierce Street found Joyner unconscious on the ground and surrounded by a small group of people, according to a police report.

The report says a witness told police a man named Harold driving a dark Mitsubishi Eclipse hit Joyner twice before driving away.

Police later interviewed Harold Propps, 21, as a suspect in the battery case, according to the report.

Propps was not listed as being in police custody early Thursday.

It is the city's 27th homicide of the year.
