LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas finance officials say the state's sales tax collections beat expectations for the sixth month in a row, boosting the state's revenue nearly $50 million above forecast so far this fiscal year.
The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration said Friday that net available revenue in September totaled $516 million. That's $4.7 million below September 2014 but $15.1 million above forecast.
The state's revenue is $49.9 million above forecast for the fiscal year that began July 1.
The state's sales tax collections in September totaled $198.4 million, which was $14.7 million above the same month last year and $11.1 million above forecast.
Individual income tax collections totaled $265.3 million, which was $26 million below the same month last year and $4.2 million below forecast.
