State Rep. John Walker and a team of attorneys filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday against the state and Little Rock School District leaders in an attempt to reverse the state's takeover of the district and address "unconstitutional policies and practices."
The suit was filed on the eve of an Arkansas Supreme Court hearing in a lawsuit challenging the Jan. 28 decision by the Arkansas Board of Education to assume control of the Little Rock district.
The board's decision came after six schools in the state's largest district were classified as being in academic distress.
