Judge awards First Arkansas $15.7M

Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza last week awarded First Arkansas Bank & Trust more than $15.7 million in a judgment against Angelica Rogers, the ex-wife of John Rogers.

First Arkansas sued John Rogers and his businesses in November last year, seeking more than $15 million that the bank loaned to him, plus interest at 10 percent a year. He began borrowing money from First Arkansas in December 2011, the lawsuit said. John and Angelica Rogers personally guaranteed payment of First Arkansas' loans, the lawsuit said.

The judgment against Angelica Rogers is at least the third First Arkansas has gotten. In April, judgments of more than $15 million were awarded against John Rogers' businesses Sports Cards Plus, which does business as Rogers Photo Archives; Planet Giant; Digital Stock Planet; Legendary Auctions; and Legend in Times, as well as three other individual defendants.
