Arkansas State Fair on pace for record attendance

The Arkansas State Fair remains on pace to set a new attendance record.

Fair officials report a crowd of 60,310 on Friday pushed overall attendance for the first eight days to 347,755. That's nearly 7,000 more than 2010, when the current record for total attendance was set.

Fair General Manager Ralph Shoptaw said attendance has been boosted by ideal weather.

The fair continues through Sunday and the National Weather Service forecast for Little Rock is for partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s on Saturday with lows falling into the 40s. Sunday's forecast is for sunshine and temperatures around 70 degrees.
