CONWAY — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee made a Conway Country Club appearance Thursday morning for a media question-and-answer session with the Republican presidential candidate.

Questions focused largely on his support for Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who was briefly jailed this week for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.

Huckabee said that since Arkansas hasn't changed its laws to accommodate same-sex marriages, county clerks could rightfully withhold licenses from gay couples.

He didn't say Arkansas clerks should flout the court decision, but did say they should "follow the only law they have in front of them."
