VALLEY SPRINGS — Boone County authorities say a former middle school teacher has been arrested on accusations that she sexually assaulted two male minors.

The county sheriff's office said it began an investigation after it was notified of the allegations of inappropriate relations between Brittney Ann Breedlove, 29, and the minors.

According to a statement, the Boone County sheriff's office received a report from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children division Aug. 21. Breedlove was arrested after a three-week investigation, the sheriff's office said.

The Valley Springs School Board met in a special session Aug. 31 and voted to unanimously accept Breedlove's resignation after meeting in a private session. Her resignation letter didn't say why she was quitting.

Sheriff's Capt. Bob King said both of the alleged victims were students or former students at a school in Valley Springs.

Breedlove was taken to the Boone County jail Thursday on charges of rape and first-degree sexual assault, according to the statement. Her bond was set at $25,000.

She was released on bond later Thursday, according to jail records.

The Harrison Daily Times reports that Breedlove is scheduled Friday to be arraigned on charges.
