Woman hurt after vehicle collides with train near Stuttgart

A female driver, whose identity was not released, suffered minor injuries in a vehicle-train accident just south of Stuttgart about 11 a.m. Friday, according to authorities.

According to the Arkansas County sheriff's office, the woman was taken to a local hospital after her northbound vehicle collided with a train on railroad tracks at U.S. 79 and Gregory Fischer Road, causing her vehicle to roll over.

The woman was the only individual in her vehicle at the time of the accident.

The vehicle and train sustained only minor damage, authorities said.

A deputy with the sheriff's office said the railroad crossing at Gregory Fischer Road does not have lights or guards to alert drivers of oncoming trains.
