Shoes the lure, boys robbed in LR park*

Three teenage boys were lured into being victims of an armed robbery at a Little Rock park early Monday, police reported.

Officers were called about 12:23 a.m. to Wakefield Park at 7401 Woodson Road. The boys -- ages 13, 15 and 15 -- said they'd traveled to the park from North Little Rock to buy shoes from a man known as "Jaylon," according to a police report. The boys followed Jaylon into a park restroom, where he pulled out a gun and another man with an AK-47 rifle was waiting.

The men took shoes and cellphones from the boys and struck two of them before fleeing on foot, according to the report.

Officers searched the area and found two suspects, but the pair fled. No arrests had been made Tuesday.

Both robbers are described as black. One was said to be 5-foot-5 in height and weigh 125 pounds, and the other 5-foot-6 and 175 pounds.
