Meth nets Springdale pair federal pen sentences

FAYETTEVILLE -- Two Springdale residents were sentenced to federal prison Monday for dealing methamphetamine, according to federal prosecutors.

Irenelisa Torres-Resendiz, 30, and Jimmy Munoz, 29, pleaded guilty in August.

Torres-Resendiz was sentenced to 11 years and 6 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Munoz was sentenced to 8 years in prison followed by one year of supervised release on two counts of using a communication facility in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

They were indicted by a federal grand jury on Feb. 25. U.S. District Judge Tim Brooks presided over the sentencing hearings.

The case was investigated by the 4th Judicial District Drug Task Force, federal Drug Enforcement Administration and Fayetteville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Carter prosecuted the cases.
