Louisiana lineman commits to Hogs

Arkansas' success in recruiting Louisiana continued Wednesday when offensive lineman Dwayne Fisher orally committed to the Razorbacks.

Fisher, 6-5, 305 of Marrero (La.) Ehret chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Mississippi State, Colorado, Arkansas State, Louisiana-Monroe and others.

The Hogs signed four prospects from the Bayou State in the 2016 class and have a pledge from safety Derrick Munson of Metairie Rummel High School for the 2017 class.

He attends the same school as Razorback linebacker signee De'jon Harris.

"He said it was great school," Fisher said. "He told me he didn't want to pressure me to a school so I looked at some of my offers and I was like that's the school who's been talking to me the most and showing me interest and trying to show me they want me."

Fisher hasn't visited Fayetteville, but plans to attend the April 23 spring game. Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith, who recruits Louisiana, and offensive line coach Kurt Anderson were talking to Fisher.

Fisher is the No. 5 commitment in the 2017 class for Arkansas. Oral commitments are nonbinding.
