Arkansas woman killed after losing control of vehicle in rainy weather

A Mountainburg woman was killed after losing control of her vehicle early Monday on a wet road in Crawford County, according to Arkansas State Police.

In a preliminary report, state police said Andrea D. Pense, 22, failed to negotiate a curve while traveling south in rainy conditions on U.S. 71 at Harrison Hill Drive about 5:11 a.m.

Pense’s Mercury then left the road and struck a group of trees, according to authorities.

Her death was the 120th reported by state police on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
