ASU’s McCasland adds assistant

Arkansas State men’s basketball Coach Grant McCasland has hired Ross Hodge as associate head coach, he announced in a statement Tuesday.

Hodge has spent the past four seasons as an assistant at Colorado State, serving as the lead recruiter for Coach Larry Eustachy and helping the Rams to an 87-48 record. Colorado State went 26-9 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2012-2013.

“I’m extremely excited and humbled to serve as Coach McCasland’s associate head coach,” Hodge said in a statement. “He has won everywhere he has been, and I believe he will do the same at Arkansas State.”

Hodge is a Dallas native and graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce, where he also spent time as an assistant coach. Hodge has also worked at Southern Miss and as a head coach at Midland Junior College and Paris Junior College.

Hodge joins assistant coach James Miller and director of basketball operations Hunter Taylor as members of McCasland’s staff.
