Two people were injured early Monday morning in an apartment fire in Fayetteville, authorities said.

Fayetteville Police Department Sgt. Craig Stout confirmed there was a meth lab at the apartment, but he noted police were still investigating.

Crews responded to the fire on Oakland Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. Monday.

A man and a woman were in the apartment at the time of the fire. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later transferred out of state to a burn unit, Stout said. The man was also injured, but not as severely, Stout said.
