Farmers Market returns to Siloam Springs

SILOAM SPRINGS -- The outdoor farmers market in Siloam Springs is just about ready to open for the season. The market opens Tuesday and will be open regularly from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The opening on Tuesday will feature music by Molly Devine and the weekend opening on Saturday, April 30, will have music by Walter Schmidt.

"The Siloam Springs Museum is partnering with us on our Second Saturday Kids Days to bring some hands on, fun historical activities," said Stacy Hester, market manager.

The Benton County Master Gardeners are returning to the market for the fourth year. They provide crafts for the kids, education for adults, and answer gardening questions.

The market is hosting the first Food Truck Night at the Market on May 17.

The No Kid Hungry program will be at the market from June 4 through Aug. 13, providing free meals for children and families. This is sponsored by Grace Episcopal Church.

The market is offering a dollar-for-dollar match on SNAP and Senior Voucher purchases beginning opening day and continuing through the season until funds run out. This has been made possible by the Walmart Foundation and ARCOP (Arkansas Coalition for Obesity Prevention).

Market vendors this season include Rainbow's Produce, Xiong Farm,Vang's Fresh Market, Lee Farm, Opossum Hollow Produce, R Family Farm, Blissful Bounty, Rock A Berry Farm, Jarvis Farms, The Bread Basket, Skopp Bakery, Create 4 Good, Latamir Laroux, The Soap Shack, Sugar Cookie Bakery, Annetta Gregory Art, Perennial Gardens, Pure Joy, Double M Ranch, White River Creamery, and Susi's Kitchen. Gardens by You and Me will be attending every 2nd Saturday, Sharpening on Site will attend every third Saturday, and Engineered Oven is available the last Saturdays of April, May, June and July.
