A boy was killed Sunday morning in an ATV accident on family property in Clay County, deputies from the sheriff's office said Tuesday.
Henry Rogers, 11, was riding along County Road 1401 at 10:30 a.m. with his niece, 11, and nephew, 5, when they hit a bump that caused the girl who was driving to accelerate on the gas while turning the ATV, Deputy Robert White said.
He said Henry was thrown from the ATV and got trapped under the vehicle as it rolled over him.
Doctors pronounced him dead at a Paragould hospital, where he was taken for head and chest fractures. The other children had minor cuts and bruises, White said.
