Driver killed, woman hurt after Jeep hits tree on Highway 10

A Jeep turning a curve in Yell County left the road and struck a tree, killing the driver and injuring a passenger Monday, according to a police report.

The driver of the Jeep, 31-year-old Raymond Williams Jr. of Havana, was pronounced dead at the scene along state Highway 10 by the county coroner, the report stated.

Nicole Duke, 31, of Danville was injured in the wreck and taken to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, according to the report.

Police reported the time of the crash as 6:56 p.m. and wrote that conditions were clear and dry at that time.

It was the 142nd fatality on Arkansas roads in 2016, according to preliminary state police records.
