What can the indefatigable Waltons be advocating now? In a word, just about everything good: healthier living through gardening, downtown development in every little town in Northwest Arkansas, farmers markets, beehives, gardening, fresh fruits and vegetables, mountain bicycling complete with bike racks . . . you name it. And if you don't, there's always next week--when they're sure to come up with even more and better ideas. For great families make great states, and it's hard to think of a family that has done more for Arkansas, and will keep on doing it.
For there is a new generation of Waltons, too, including Tom and Steuart and a handful of others who always seem to be doing what they can to make Arkansas a better place. May their tribe increase, as it has increased for years. And Godspeed.
