Hot Springs man dies from injuries sustained in July wreck

A Hot Springs man died Saturday after suffering injuries in a wreck that occurred earlier in July.

The Garland County coroner told Arkansas State Police that John Bernsden, 83, died at 12:36 a.m. Saturday because of "complications from the accident."

On July 22 at 10:19 a.m., Bernsden was attempting to turn his Chevrolet Trax onto Arkansas 192 from southbound U.S. 70 west of Hot Springs, police said. He failed to yield for an oncoming Nissan Altima, and the two cars collided, according to a state police report.
