Police found pounds of marijuana and a stolen semi-automatic handgun in a car driven by a convicted felon Thursday, according to a police report.

Terry Smith, 22, of North Little Rock was arrested Thursday afternoon at 1524 N. Pike Ave. after police found a digital scale, clear plastic bags and about 3.2 pounds of marijuana during a search of the vehicle, police said. Police also found a loaded semi-automatic handgun that had been reported stolen to the Little Rock Police Department, according to the report.

The vehicle -- a 1999 Buick Regal -- matched the description of a vehicle involved in another incident, in which people had attempted to buy high-capacity magazines for handguns that had the serial numbers scratched off, according to the report.

Police spotted the car heading west on West 16th Street, then saw the vehicle turn into a parking lot, according to the report. Officers said the vehicle smelled of marijuana, and Smith identified himself as Michael Jackson to police, according to the arrest report.

Smith was charged with possession of firearm by certain persons, theft by receiving, simultaneous possession of firearms and drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance with purpose, and obstructing a government operation, according to the report.

He was listed on Pulaski County jail's inmate roster Friday night.
