Style: What makes a movie good?

There are only a couple of new films coming to local theaters this weekend, so our critic Philip Martin takes the opportunity to examine why some movies waste our time while others transport us to worlds we’d otherwise never access, using the recent films Bad Santa 2 and Loving as jumping off points. Martin also reviews the highly acclaimed Moonlight, and The Eyes of My Mother, a Sundance favorite that’s making it’s way to video-on-demand sites.

We’ve also got Karen Martin’s weekly Home Movies columns, and a fresh perspective of Mel Gibson’s anti-war war movie Hacksaw Ridge. All in Friday’s Style section in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
