50-year-old man tells police he was shot while walking on Little Rock road

A 50-year-old man told police while being treated at a hospital that he had been shot while walking on a road in Little Rock early Thursday.

The victim, 50-year-old Henri Hatten, said an unknown vehicle passed by as he was walking on Kanis Road near Labelle Drive between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. that morning.

As the vehicle passed, Hatten said, he heard a loud popping sound resembling a gun shot or vehicle backfiring and stopped to look around, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Hatten said he began to feel pain in the bottom of his left leg as he began walking again, at that point flagging down a vehicle to transport him to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock for treatment.

The report noted Hatten as saying he had not been in an altercation before the shooting.

A physical description of the shooter was not immediately available Friday afternoon.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
