Friends of the Animal Village made merry at the fourth annual Santa Paws, held Dec. 9 at Trapnall Hall. The event was a fundraiser for Little Rock Animal Village.
More than $10,000 was raised for the animal shelter, said volunteer Leslie Taylor. Funds will help pay for the daily costs of caring for the animals including food, spaying and neutering and various medications.
In addition to finger foods and libations, guests enjoyed music by Joe Meazle and Jeff Clanton, a wine pull and a silent auction with many animal-theme items. Special guests included Santa Claus and two residents of the Village, a kitten named Chester and a puppy named Thea.
The evening included a special awards presentation to Theba Lolly and to television station KTHV for its support of the shelter.
