LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Top Republicans in Arkansas say they're weighing which White House hopefuls to back now that former Gov. Mike Huckabee has ended his second bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson and several other top Republicans who had backed Huckabee's presidential campaign said Tuesday they're not ready to announce endorsements in the crowded race. Huckabee dropped out Monday night after a dismal showing in the Iowa caucuses, which he had won during his unsuccessful presidential bid eight years ago.

Hutchinson said he was honored to support Huckabee early, and a spokesman for the governor said he'll make a decision closer to the state's March 1 primary.

Several GOP hopefuls have campaigned in Arkansas. Billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump plans to headline a rally in Little Rock on Wednesday.
