Pavement testing on Interstate 440 in North Little Rock will require alternating lane closures beginning Thursday and lasting through Feb. 19, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.
The work in preparation for a future rebuilding project consists of taking core samples between the I-440 bridge over the Arkansas River and Interstate 40 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The lane closure will alternate between inside and outside lanes as well as between eastbound and westbound directions.
No closures will be in effect on weekends or holidays, the department said. Traffic will be controlled by signs, cones and flagmen.
