JONESBORO -- Police were investigating after a body was discovered Friday in eastern Jonesboro, authorities said.

A man walking his dog found the body of a black woman along a dirt road near the intersection of Commerce Drive and Pacific Road at 4:56 p.m., said Paul Holmes, a Jonesboro Police Department spokesman.

The body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for autopsy.

Officers found no identification on the woman, who appeared to be 30-40 years old, according to a news release from Holmes. She had thinning hair and a number of tattoos, including some that bear names and dates, it said.
