Saline County sheriff's office deputies arrested two people Friday after drugs were found in the system of a 7-month-old baby, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

The child was taken to a hospital Tuesday and is still being treated, according to the release. The baby is now in the custody of the Department of Human Services.

Saline County detectives said they executed a search warrant at the home of Kevin Manson, 47, and Jennifer Edwards, 35, on Puckett Road in Alexander, where they found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Manson and Edwards have been charged with introducing a controlled substance into the body of another and endangering the welfare of a minor. They are being held at the Saline County jail with no bond set as of 2 p.m. Friday, according to the Saline County sheriff's office website.
