Teen accused of killing his 10-year-old sister

FOUNTAIN, Fla. — Law enforcement officials in the Florida Panhandle say a 15-year-old is accused of killing his 10-year-old sister.

According to the News Herald, the girl's family said they last saw her when she went to bed Saturday. She was reported missing Sunday morning.

Her body was found in a field behind the family's home northeast of Panama City.

Bay County Sheriff's officials have not said what led investigators to the girl's brother, who's charged with an open count of murder. The Associated Press does not generally name juveniles accused of crimes.

Sheriff Frank McKeithen described the boy as "hard core" during a Monday news conference, saying he acted much older when confronted by authorities.
