Family: Movies celebrating Black History Month

With February being Black History Month, Wednesday’s Family section looks at 10 movies that span the full range of black cinema and are suitable for parents and children.

The films include A Ballerina’s Tale, a documentary on Misty Copeland, the first black principal dancer at New York’s American Ballet Theater; 2000’s Remember the Titans about the struggles and victories of a newly integrated high school football team in 1971 Virginia; and The Color Purple, an intense drama adapted from award-winning author Alice Walker’s novel of the same name.

See Wednesday's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for full details.
