LAKE FAYETTEVILLE TRAIL
Location: One good place to start is Fayetteville's Veterans Memorial Park on the south side of the lake. It's on North Vantage Drive, a block north of Zion Road. I walked the trail counterclockwise to save the best for last.

Length: The paved and easy trail is 5.5 miles around the lake. An unpaved companion mountain bike trail is 7.5 miles long and far more rugged.
Main attractions: This popular trail offers 640 acres of serene nature snuggled between busy highways and not far from Northwest Arkansas Mall. The trail also connects to others in the Northwest Arkansas Razorback Greenway.
Hazards: None, but long stretches cut through deep, thick woods. Always be aware of your surroundings.
