LITTLE ROCK — Jury selection is to begin in the trial of a man charged with kidnapping and capital murder in the 2014 death of a central Arkansas real estate agent.

Jury selection begins Tuesday for 35-year-old Arron Lewis who is charged in the death of Beverly Carter. He has pleaded not guilty.

Circuit Court Judge Herbert Wright has excluded some evidence from the trial, including items taken from Lewis' home and one of his cars, ruling that police used overly broad search warrants. Many of Lewis' interviews with investigators also won't be allowed because he asked for an attorney that was not provided.

Jurors will hear testimony from Lewis' estranged wife, Crystal Lowery, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder and kidnapping in the case in July.
