LSU drops Arkansas on last-second shot

Craig Victor hit a go-ahead shot with 4.2 seconds remaining and LSU beat Arkansas 76-74 Saturday at Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Victor's putback put the Tigers ahead after Antonio Blakeney stole the ball from Anthlon Bell. Arkansas had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but Anton Beard's 3-point attempt failed to hit the rim.

Both teams trailed by five points late in the second half. The Tigers used a 9-2 run to take the lead, but Arkansas had a 5-0 run to tie the game in the final minute.

The Razorbacks led 40-36 at halftime.

Anthlon Bell scored 19 points to lead Arkansas (9-8, 3-2 SEC). The Razorbacks had a three-game win streak snapped.

Ben Simmons had 16 points and 18 rebounds to lead LSU. Victor had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Beard and Moses Kingsley scored 11 points apiece for the Razorbacks.

The Tigers (11-6, 4-1 SEC) made 17 of 31 free throws to stay in the game. LSU shot 20 more free throws than Arkansas.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to host Kentucky on Thursday.
