1 killed, 4 injured in collision near Siloam Springs

A Springtown woman was killed and four others were injured Thursday in a collision on Fairmount Road in Siloam Springs, Arkansas State Police said.

Jodi Klassen, 27, of Gentry, was driving north on Fairmout Road with three passengers in her 2009 Subaru IRS. At about 5:45 p.m., she lost control and slid sideways into a southbound Kia Soul, driven by Sherry Jean Drabenstott, 53, of Siloam Springs, according to a police report.

Stacey Marie Nichols, a 30-year-old passenger in Klassen's vehicle, was killed in the collision. The injured were taken to Siloam Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

Road conditions were described as wet from rain and sleet at the time of the wreck, according to the report.

Nichols' death was the 20th in a crash on an Arkansas road so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
