Woman, 20, dies in Texarkana jail

Texarkana police were investigating the death of a 20-year-old inmate who died early Friday at the Bi-State jail, according to a release from the Police Department.

Guards and nursing staff members found inmate Morgan Angerbauer of Texarkana alone in her cell shortly after 4 a.m., the release said. Angerbauer appeared to be in medical distress, it said, and efforts to revive her were not successful.

Her body will be sent to the state Crime Laboratory for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing pending the autopsy results, the release said.

Angerbauer had been held at the jail since June 28, the release said. She was being held on charges from Miller County, said officer Kristi Bennett, spokesman for the Texarkana police.
