A man accused of attempting to set his sister's Little Rock home on fire was picked up on warrants at the Dallas County jail Wednesday and charged with arson.

According to a police report, Joseph Cranford, 36, was accused by his sister of spraying a flammable liquid on her Knollwood Road home and tossing a lit piece of paper at the house June 17.

The sister told police she was able to douse the flames after witnessing the fire start. The arrest report says officers observed burned pieces of siding on the house.

A warrant for arson and criminal mischief was issued, which Little Rock police served at the Dallas County jail Wednesday evening, a spokesman with Little Rock police said.

Cranford was listed as an inmate at the Pulaski County jail Thursday. He was charged with arson and held in lieu $50,000 bond, jail records show.
