Alyse Eady, the former Miss Arkansas who joined THV 11 as an anchor in 2011, says she will leave the station later this month to take a position in Atlanta.

In a post on her Facebook page Monday night, Eady said she has accepted an anchor position at a news station in Atlanta and that her last day at THV will be July 29.

"For more than 5 years, I’ve had the privilege of sharing the news with you on THV 11," Eady wrote. "This incredible job has allowed me to meet and interview some of the most interesting people in Arkansas, and serve dozens of non-profit organizations in the community. I've worked with some of the most talented people in TV news and will cherish these friendships forever."

In a statement, THV 11 News Director Dave Parker recognized Eady for her "poise and professionalism."

“We wish Alyse great success as she moves forward in her life and career,” he said.

Eady has been one of the co-anchors on THV's morning show since August 2011. Before joining the station, she was named Miss Arkansas in 2010 and went on to become the first runner-up in the Miss America pageant.

In her post announcing her departure, Eady, who is from Fort Smith, thanked viewers "for inviting me into your homes each day, and for trusting me to do the job I’ve loved so much."

"You can take the girl out of Arkansas," she added, "but you can NEVER take Arkansas out of the girl!"

The post did not identify the Atlanta station where she will be working. Nielsen rankings show Atlanta is the 9th largest in the country. Little Rock is 57th.
